JumpStart for Parents

JumpStart for Parents is the corresponding workshop to the modular version of our I Can Study! workshop for students that focus on our JumpStart set.

The JumpStart set of the 22 Essential Study Skills comprises study skills that are recommended for application before, during and after a lesson.

This abridged version of the students’ workshop is meant to familiarise parents with a number of study skills in the JumpStart set such as Preview+Skim (PS), Optimised Reading (OR) and Optimising Homework/Practice (OHP).

JumpStart for Parents is the first primer for the 12-hour Essential Study Skills Development workshop.

StudySMART for Parents

StudySMART for Parents is the corresponding workshop to the modular version of our I Can Study! workshop for students that focus on our StudySMART or Strategic Studying sets.

The StudySMART set of the 22 Essential Study Skills comprises study skills that are recommended for application before, during and after a test/exam.

This abridged version of the students’ workshop is meant to familiarise parents with a number of study skills in the StudySMART set such as Instant Recall (IR), Recall Mapping (RM) and GTR Circuit (GTR).

StudySMART for Parents is the second primer for the 12-hour Essential Study Skills Development workshop.

Essential Study Skills Development

Essential Study Skills Development (ESSD) is the corresponding workshop to the I Can Study! (ICS) workshop for students that imparts up to 18 of the 22 Essential Study Skills.

ESSD differs from ICS as the focus will be on the approach and method for helping students in the development of study skills. The workshop covers the following:

  • Attend Development Framework
  • Stages of Study Skills Development
  • Experiential Learning in Study Skills Development
  • Tips on Imparting the 22 Essential Study Skills
